After having been recommended to me many times, I finally gave up my last 10 bucks and just bought a Sigur Ros album. The one I had heard about the most was simply titled "( )", so I chose that as my first listen.
Wow. Wow.
I am blown away.
This is without a doubt one of the most powerful albums I've ever listened to. Not since "The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place" by Explosions in the Sky (which came out after ( ), I just hadn't heard it yet) have I had such a reaction to music that is mostly done through instrumentals.
The vocals are excellently weird. As far as I could tell they weren't in English, but I don't even know if this is any language...either way, emotion is universal and this album has plenty of it.
Each song is simply titled "Track 1," "Track 2," and so on, and starts off with a quietly haunting melody. Throughout the album, the tension and power builds until to reach the final song which is so forceful and explosive that it just blew me away.
As you can guess by my reuse of words throughout this review, words really can't describe this CD. It's an intense experience from start to finish, and one that should be experienced as such. Don't listen to a few songs and get back to them later; this needs to be listened to in one sitting the first go around. You won't regret it.

Definitely, work camp is awesome.
From my experience, it can't be beat.
i've got tons of pictures I may or may not upload later.
I'll let you know.
And of course you're not the only one who can be taken places by music. It's not that abnormal (I hope).
Speaking of music, about this blog:
You almost made me buy this CD already. No joke. I was in Best Buy looking for Skillet when I saw some of Sigur Ros' CDs. And I would have bought () too, except they were out.
Sigh.
Maybe off iTunes later.
I hear it's powerful music? :-P
Good to hear.
